I just ordered my copy of Australia Burns, an anthology where the proceeds go to assist recovery efforts from their extreme fires. This anthology is the first in a series of three my publisher, The Wild Rose Press, is issuing this month. This first one has thirteen short stories, all mysteries and thrillers, and includes my dark domestic suspense “Three Ghosts.”
This project arose quickly earlier this month, when one of my publisher’s Australian authors proposed the idea. More than forty-five authors volunteered stories, editors offered their work, and a myriad of other talents have been donated. The next anthologies, mostly romance stories, will be released on Valentine’s Day, and can also be preordered now.
The devastation in Australia is heartbreaking. Millions of acres scorched, people killed, and homes burned. Even in areas far from the fires were affected for weeks by choking smoke. Even though rain has helped firefighters gain control of the situation, many areas will struggle for years to recover.
The wonderful thing about this anthology project is that my publisher isn’t taking any administrative costs out; all proceeds will be sent to Australian charities. The books are $13.99 each and available through The Wild Rose Press, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. However, buying directly from my publisher will net the most for charity since the other vendors will take their cut from sales. Regardless, every bit helps and so I’m including all three links, if you’re inclined to help:
